چکیده
The use of a-isonitrosopropiophenone, CS& *CO * CNOH. CH3, as a reagent for the calorimetric determination of urea has been mentioned in a previous communication (1). The present report outlines a simple method for the calorimetric determination of urea in blood filtrates and urine by means of this reagent and compares the values obtained by this method with those given by the urease ((2), (3) p. 372) methods.

متن کاملThe colorimetric determination of urea in the blood of normal and uremic rats.
In connection with other studies in this laboratory (1, 2),’ it became necessary to determine the concentration of urea in the blood of individual new-born rats. In view of the small quantities of blood available and the need for a considerable number of analyses, the calorimetric method developed by Archibald (3) appeared to be particularly suitable. This method is based upon the formation of ...

متن کاملDetermination of citrulline in plasma.
THE ONLY METHOD available at present for the routine determination of citrulline in blood is the one first described by Archibald (1). This method is based on the original observation of Fearon (2) that in strongly acid solution citrulline condenses with diacetylmonoxime (DAM) to produce a peach-colored complex. Since urea also reacts with DAM under these conditions, Archibald removed it by inc...
متن کاملAn Improved Method for the Simple and Accurate Colorimetric Determination of Urea with Ehrlich's Reagent.
An improved method for the colorimetric determination of urea is described. The method is simple, requiring a deproteinized filtrate obtained after treatment of a small quantity of whole oxalated blood, serum, plasma or urine with 12.5% trichloracetic acid containing 50 g. activated carbon. The addition of Ehrlich's reagent to this filtrate results in the immediate production of a stable yellow...
